Frequently Asked Questions

and Answers!

Why is it called Service in Unity?

We believe that being employed is an important part of adding value to your life, and being of service to your local community provides a stronger sense of being valued. This need to be of value is often difficult to obtain when you are in many forms of recovery. We also believe that banding together with all our different struggles gives us strength. Knowing your coworker may be struggling with something similar, allows you the space to struggle as well.  We will struggle together in Unity, adding value to all our lives by being of Service to each other and our community. We are Service in Unity.

Is Service in Unity a temp agency?

No, Service in Unity is not a temp agency. Our staff will work with many different clients.

Isn't it risky to hire people in recovery?

Not usually, but Service in Unity understands the concerns. We have worked to develop a network of staffing partners. These partners are community leaders in all types of recovery services. Our staffing partners provide the first vetting of people that are a good fit for Service in Unity.

Service in Unity says they prioritize their staff's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health above all else, what does this mean?

We understand that balancing recovery and work is a difficult act. Often the person in recovery needs to risk their job for needed recovery activities. Service in Unity removes this risk. We are very clear, if there is an action a staff member needs to take for their recovery, they are to prioritize that and not need to worry about their employment.

If staff is encouraged to prioritize their recovery, what does that mean for the work I requested?

Service in Unity management takes responsibility to ensure your job is completed. Our work order system allows an easy visual into the work that is scheduled to be completed, and the resources available to complete it.

How do I become employed by Service in Unity?

We take the desire to be employed very seriously. To be employed by Service in Unity you need to be recommended by a Staffing Partner.

My current recovery service provider is not a Staffing Partner, what can I do?

We prioritize growing our Staffing Partner network. Please have your recovery service provider connect with Service in Unity.

I'm on SSDI can I still work with Service in Unity?

Yes! We understand the limits of SSDI and are happy to work with you to find the value you are looking for.

My Recovery can be unpredictable, and sometimes I can't fulfill an obligation. Can I still work with you?

Yes! We understand that different recoveries mean different obstacles, and they are all understandable. We always want you to prioritize your recovery, never risking your employment.
